The American Foundry will be providing the next Salvation Army Guest Chef dinner on October 8 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
They will be serving chicken and biscuits, vegetable, tossed salad, and bread. Members of the advisory board will provide desserts and beverages.
The dinner will be at the Salvation Army Citadel, 73 W. Second St., Oswego.
The Guest Chef dinners are organized by the Advisory Board and offered to the community to raise funds to support the services of the Army throughout Oswego County. There is ample parking and the building is fully accessible. Dinners may be enjoyed in our dining room or carried out.
The Foundry, as it’s known locally, is owned and operated by the Ciappa family, lifelong Oswego residents who have generations of experience in the food and special events business. They and their staff are known for critically acclaimed food and for handling each event with professionalism, care and neighborly warmth that is a trademark of this close-knit family.
They specialize in public and private gatherings including weddings, receptions, fundraisers, public concerts and other special events.
The next and final Guest Chef dinner for this year will be provided by members of the Minetto United Methodist Church on November 12 and will be a complete roast turkey dinner.
There will soon be opportunities for individuals and groups to stand with the Christmas kettles.

The Oswego County Salvation Army Corps recently completed its first year of service, having been formed through the joining of the former Fulton and Oswego Corps and several Service Units in other parts of the County.
Fresh-cooked meals are served and food pantries are available in both Fulton and Oswego and many other services are provided to individuals and families in need throughout Oswego County.
Worship services are held at the Oswego location.
The corps is under the leadership of Majors James and Kathryn Purvis.
