Call-Out For 2026 Youth Program Proposals

OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Youth Bureau is looking for proposals from community-based, not-for-profit organizations for youth development programs, along with team sports and sports education. The call-out comes in anticipation of limited funding for youth programs becoming available from the state for the 2026 program year.

“This funding is provided by the Oswego County Youth Bureau and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services,” said Oswego County Youth Bureau Executive Director Brian Chetney. “Our board of directors will review and evaluate each proposal for cost effectiveness, impact, measurable outcomes and to ensure a large cross-section of youth are served from different age groups and geographic areas in Oswego County.”

A one-page summary must be submitted to the Oswego County Youth Bureau by Friday, Aug. 22, with the full proposal due by Friday, Sept. 5. Applicants may be required to meet with youth bureau staff after submitting their one-page summary.

Program funds will be awarded for nine months, beginning January 1, 2026. Funding decisions and awards will be based on New York State guidelines.

The Oswego County Youth Bureau supports youth development as an ongoing process to help children and teens build life skills that will allow them to become successful adults. The result of a strong youth development system is timely high school graduation, career and job readiness, strong civic-mindedness, and the ability to overcome involvement with the juvenile delinquency system.
