FULTON – The Fulton Library is proud to announce the publication of its seventh collection of memoirs that highlight the city’s history. The book is a result of the Memoir Project, an initiative to collect memories from people who live or have lived, worked in or enjoyed Fulton.
The Project started in 2012, with a committee of volunteers working to help people write their memories, research and collect images from the city’s history. Over 300 memoirs have been collected since the Project’s inception.
Each Project has a theme to help people focus their memoirs. The latest Memoir book, titled “It’s a Beautiful Day in Our Neighborhoods,” captures over 30 stories of growing up in Fulton’s neighborhoods. Each memoir is accompanied by a photo or photos that reflect the story’s theme.
To celebrate this accomplishments the public is invited to the book’s launch on Wednesday, November 13 at 6:30pm. The free event takes place at Fulton City Hall’s Community Room. Refreshments will be served.
During the program Memoir Project Committee members will present an overview of the Project’s goals, a slideshow of photos from the Neighborhood book and a selection of readings from the memoirs. The book will be for sale at the event, with all proceeds going to support the Fulton Library’s service to our community.
