Oswego County Offers Free Transportation to Farmers’ Markets

OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Department of Mobility Management again offers free round-trip transportation to the Fulton, Oswego and Pulaski farmers’ markets this summer. Rides to the Fulton Farmers’ Market on Saturdays start June 13, while transport to the Oswego and Pulaski Farmers’ Markets begins Thursday, July 16 and Friday, July 17, respectively.

“Oswego County is proud to continue providing free transportation to area farmers’ markets,” said Oswego County Legislator Mary Ellen Chesbro, District 10, chairwoman of the Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee. “Reducing transportation barriers helps ensure all residents have access to fresh, nutritious and locally grown food. These services not only support community wellness but also strengthen local agriculture and make it easier for families to connect with the resources available in their own neighborhoods.”

Oswego County Director of Mobility Management Heather Snow added, “This marks our fifth year providing free transportation to local farmers’ markets, and it’s been rewarding to see ridership grow year after year. In addition to market access, these routes give riders convenient connections to seasonal destinations, such as Harborfest, Rudy’s Lakeside Drive-In, waterfront attractions and more.”
