Oswego Town – The annual cemetery walk at Oswego Town Rural Cemetery, Fruit Valley on Cemetery Road will be Sept. 8 at 6 p.m.
The walk will especially honor the memory of War of 1812 veterans buried there in commemorating the bicentennial of the war.
The cemetery dates back to 1820 and the grave of Abram Clark a Revolutionary War veteran will be visited.
Clark is the first one to be buried in the historic cemetery where two Medal of Honor winners, Dr. Mary Edwards Walker and Capt. James Lee, both of Civil War fame rest.
The walk will end at the cemetery garage with a brief candle ceremony.
The walk is sponsored by the Oswego Town Historical Society.
The public is invited.
