ARC of Oswego County will host a Parent Education and Training session on Sensory Diets for parents and caregivers of children with developmental disabilities and other concerns. Beth Jordan, an occupational therapist with 21 years of experience in the field, will speak about what sensory diets are and how they can help children with special needs. The evening will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at ARC of Oswego in Fulton (with registration and a light dinner from 5:30 to 6:00pm).
The evening is free of charge and is open to the public, but reservations are required. A light dinner will be available, and free on-site child care is offered. To register, interested persons should call Rebecca Robinson at 598-3108 x249 by April 21 with the number of children and adults expected to attend.
Beth Jordan currently provides early intervention services to young children through ARC of Oswego County and also works with adults with developmental disabilities at Oswego Industries, Inc. She is on staff at the Margaret Williams Developmental Center in Syracuse, NY, is an adjunct instructor at Utica College, and is pursuing a doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy. She has worked with preschool and school-aged children in Oswego County for over 15 years and has also worked in CNY hospitals providing care to medically fragile children and adults.
