Area Volunteers Recognized For Outstanding Service to Girls

CICERO, NY – Girl Scout volunteers are the backbone of the Girl Scout organization. Without them the Girl Scouts would not be able to offer the amazing Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls. During April, which is National Volunteer Month, the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways thanks its volunteers with a volunteer appreciation dinner.

Twenty-two volunteers were recognized May 3 in Fulton for their outstanding service to girls.

Eight volunteers received the Appreciation Pin which recognizes service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls and has had a measurable impact on one geographic area.

The Appreciation Pin recipients are: Treyonne Baldwin of Baldwinsville, troop leader; Kelly Berger of Nedrow, troop leader; Nancy Fritcher of Baldwinsville, troop leader; Wendy Holz of Baldwinsville, troop leader; Toni Picerno of Baldwinsville, troop leader; Lyn Pinto of Baldwinsville, assistant leader; Cynthia Rhinehart of Fulton, troop leader, service unit cookie coordinator and service unit manager; and Kristie Shanahan of Syracuse, assistant leader.

The Volunteer of Excellence award recognizes volunteers who have contributed outstanding service to girls and have implemented the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

This year’s recipients are: Erin Altieri of Baldwinsville, assistant leader; Gretchen Bova of Central Square, assistant leader; Brenda Brook of Baldwinsville, troop cookie manager; Amber Jaquin of Baldwinsville, troop committee member; Corrie Jastrzab of Baldwinsville, troop cookie manager; Katie Klinzman of Baldwinsville, assistant leader; Carly Maldonado of Syracuse, troop leader; Betsy Pickard of Baldwinsville, assistant leader; Nicole Ruggireo of Solvay, troop leader; Jonileigh Baldwin Scheel of Solvay, assistant leader; Pam Scheemaker of Central Square, assistant leader; Malorey Skellington of Baldwinsville, troop committee member; Sarah Walton of Syracuse, troop leader; and Becky Waters of Solvay, troop leader.
