Bikers, Runners, Kids and Community Come Together for Neighbors

OSWEGO, NY – ARISE & Ride for Ramps will take place on Saturday at Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego. The event raises funds to provide ramps for families in Oswego County who cannot afford them. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever with past ramp recipients there to cheer on the participants.

Bikers take a ride around the beautiful North Country, runners take on the 5K, and kids will have the special opportunity to ride their bikes on the Oswego Speedway track.

The event will also feature a chicken BBQ, great raffle items, bounce house, games, and more.

Since 2004, the ARISE Ramp Program has provided ramps for more than 160 families across Oswego County. The Ride for Ramps event is the only major fundraising event for the ARISE program and all proceeds from the event are used to purchase lumber and other construction materials so volunteers can build ramps for families in need.

Check-in starts at 9:30 a.m.

The 5K run/walk will start at 10 a.m., motorcycle ride will depart at 10:30 a.m., and the kids’ bike ride around the track will begin at 11 a.m.

The chicken BBQ will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Participants can register on-site on the day of the event.

ARISE & Ride for Ramps is supported by G&C Foods, Raby’s Ace Home Center, Relph Benefit Advisors, Morningstar Residential Care Center, Pathfinder Bank, The Richard S. Shineman Foundation, Haylor, Freyer & Coon, Fulton Savings Bank, Compass Credit Union, and Tom and Lynne McKeown.
