Three students enrolled in the Floral Design and Greenhouse Technology program at Oswego County BOCES recently attended the New York FFA 212/360 leadership conference in Syracuse.
The 360 Conference takes student full circle through chapter leadership development, and helps them to realize the potential they have to impact their schools and community.
Attendees learned how to develop action plans for their chapter. This year’s theme was “influence.”
OCB students Kayla Munger (Fulton), Bethany Gregory (APW) and Austin Williams (Phoenix) were among 300 students (both juniors and seniors) participating in the agricultural based leadership conference.
Margaret Rice’s students had the opportunity to work with Revolution Hunger, a unique initiative that empowers teens to tackle hunger and malnutrition worldwide.
Students prepared individual meal packets consisting of rice, dehydrated vegetables and soy to be shipped and used worldwide.
Overall 10,000 meal packets were prepared in one evening.
