BREWERTON – How do plants change color? How do clouds form? How does a pulley make our work easier? These questions, and many more, were answered at Brewerton Elementary School’s Science Showcase.
As part of the school’s STEAM initiative, students were not only introduced to the scientific method, but they were then challenged to create their own science experiments.
Each experiment was then highlighted in a special showcase for parents, staff and the community to stop by and check out all of the hard work and dedication students put into their projects.
Dozens of students participated in the event, with a variety of unique projects, from volcanoes to slime to solar systems.
Participants were encouraged to get involved with activities and were also given the opportunity to provide feedback at each station. In addition, judges were on hand to award special ribbons to projects that went above and beyond expectations.
This annual event is a time-honored tradition at Brewerton Elementary and it remains one of the biggest events of the year.
