“BucFest” is planned for Saturday, September 28th, from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at the end of Joe Wilbur Field (rain location OHS gyms). It will follow the Homecoming Parade, which starts at 10:00 a.m. on West First Street across from The Climbing Wall and ends at the football field on Buccaneer Boulevard.  Immediately following BucFest will be the homecoming game against the Fulton Red Raiders with kickoff at 2:00 p.m.

The cost of the 6th annual event is $2.00, and most of the attractions are free.  Every “BucFest” visitor will receive free snacks donated by Frito Lay and free blue or white “Buc Beads” as they enter.

This year, for the first time, “Games on a Roll” has been added to the festivities. It is a bus full of many different video games that kids can climb aboard and play.

“Each year we try to add new attractions and activities that will entertain and boost school spirit with the students, faculty and community,” said BucFest committee chair, Judy Queale-Dunsmoor. “We have a lot to be proud of as Buccaneers, and there will be something for everyone at this year’s BucFest.”

The official “BucFest 2013” t-shirt, sporting a unique new design this year will also be on sale during BucFest, with a limited number of shirts available. It includes both the Oswego and Fulton logos.

In true ‘Buc’ Spirit you will able to get your hair and nails colored in “Buc Blue” as well as make a stop at the face-painting booth.

Digital Sound Entertainment, featuring “Marty the One Man Party” from 93Q, will provide music for this year’s event.

One of the most popular activities every year is the “dunk booth” where students attempt to soak their teachers or coaches. The exciting side-winder amusement ride will be back, as will a digital photo booth where kids can print out photos of themselves with their friends.  Attendees can play on a variety of inflatables from the Velcro wall to the Dual Lap Obstacle Course sponsored by Pathfinder Bank.  They can decorate a pumpkin or make candy leis to take home with them.  “Parky” the Magician and balloon artist will be on hand as will G&G Reptiles.  Some games will offer prizes donated by Fajita Grill and other local businesses.

Children can get their photos taken with New York Bold’s “Chef Bold” or the “Oswego Buccaneer”.

This year’s menu includes fried dough, cotton candy, snow cones, candy and caramel apples, hot dogs and pizza, pulled pork and chili brought to you by the football boosters, Barlow’s Concessions, Kings Concession, Gibby O’Connor’s Irish Pub and Mark’s Pizzeria.

In addition to the festival, the Buccaneer Boosters are promoting a “Buccaneer Blue Week” throughout Oswego from, September 21-September 28th

The Boosters will give a prize to the business owner and the homeowner who does the best job decorating for “Buccaneer Blue Week”.
