BucFest Organizers Thank Community For Support

OSWEGO, NY – BucFest was a tremendous success as students of all ages enjoyed the Buccaneer Booster sponsored event.

Prior to the Homecoming Football game hundreds of youngsters, many accompanied by their parents, filled two Oswego High School gyms to enjoy a variety of activities.

Face painting, hair coloring, rock guitar hero, jumping in inflatibles, and many other active events took place in the gym.

Outside BucFest attendees could enjoy a turkey leg, bloomin’ onion, chicken barbeque or pulled pork, cotton candy or candy apples while watching many coaches and administrators along with Buc Boosters getting soaked in the dunking pool.

This was the second year for the event and it once again was a major success.

Judy Dunsmoor of the Buc Boosters noted, “We could not have done this without the cooperation of the school district and businesses from throughout the area. This is a great event and we look for this to grow in the years ahead.”

The Homecoming Week commenced with a parade involving not only high school, but middle school and elementary age students.

The annual powder puff football game followed and each day of the week there was something special at OHS. The week culminated with BucFest and the victory in the homecoming football game for the varsity Bucs.

Dunsmoor noted, “I would like to thank the more than 70 volunteers who assisted us as well as Cam’s Pizza, C Farms, Eagle Beverage, Fajita Grill, Frito Lay, Gibby O’Conner’s Irish Pub, Jeff Wallace, Kraftees, New York Bold LLC, Oswego Printing, Oswego Sub Shop, Pathfinder Bank, Paul’s Big M, Raging River BBQ, Ray Place, Remembrances Gift Baskets, Sally Beauty Supply, Visual Creations and the Oswego Chamber of Commerce.”
