Build A Boat In Just Three Days

OSWEGO, NY – The H. Lee White Marine Museum is partnering with the Oswego Maritime Foundation, and the Department of Technology at SUNY to offer Family Boat Building, right here in Oswego’s Historic Maritime District.

Chloe Martin of Oswego tests the dory lark that she and her family built at one of the H. Lee White Marine Museum's Family Boat Building Weekends.

On July 22, 23 and 24, you and your family can join in an instructional, hands-on program that culminates in a completed boat for your family’s use.

There are three styles of boats to choose from.

All materials are provided, but a limited number of kits are available.

You must register as soon as possible and pre-payment is required.

Space is limited, so participation will be on a first registered and paid basis.

Compared to boat building programs at other facilities, this workshop is made more affordable thanks to generous support from Raby’s Ace Home Center.

At least one responsible adult, parent or guardian over the age of 18 years, must be included in each group and there is an age limit of 9 years old for the children due to the skills needed to complete the project.

Groups of at least two are requested.

Contact the H. Lee White Marine Museum at 342-0480 or [email protected] for more information or to register.
