GRANBY – At Granby Elementary School, it’s never too late for students to start thinking about what they want to be when they grow up.

Community agencies and businesses volunteered to participate in the school’s Career Day to expose several potential career options to kindergarteners to sixth graders.
Students were divided into groups based on future aspirations, including: fitness, sales, cars, cosmetology, theater, justice, banking, social work, massage therapy, police, firefighting and dancing, among several other options.
In each session, students were engaged in conversation with the special presenters and asked questions related to their line of work, educational background required and how they got into their profession.
Several students learn about careers and community in academic units throughout the school year.
