Catholic Charities Announces Fresh Food Distribution

Written by: John DeRousie, Custom Marketing Solutions
FULTON, NY – On Sept. 14 the Emergency Services Program of Catholic Charities of Oswego County, in cooperation with the Food Bank of Central New York, will sponsor a fresh food distribution. Fresh foods and produce will be available, free of charge to those in need, from 4 until 6 p.m. or until food is gone. Please bring your own bags or boxes. Distribution will be at the Elks Lodge, 57 Pierce Drive in Fulton.

Those in attendance will receive a number from a random drawing that will take place approximately twenty minutes prior to the beginning of the food distribution. The number will determine that person’s place in line and alleviate the need for people to come to the food distribution hours in advance to be among the first in line.

Catholic Charities’ client choice food pantry will be closed on Sept. 14 in preparation for the food distribution. The food pantry will re-open at its regular hours on Sept. 15. Regular hours for Catholic Charities’ client choice food pantry are Tuesday 3 – 7 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Thursday 3 – 7 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The pantry is closed on Mondays. For more information on the food distribution contact Helen Hoefer at 598-3980.

Catholic Charities of Oswego County serves all people in need regardless of their religious affiliation. Primary funding sources for Catholic Charities of Oswego County programs are the United Way of Greater Oswego County, the Diocesan Hope Appeal, the County of Oswego and private donations by individuals and local companies and organizations.
