Children Teaching The World Of Wii To Seniors

OSWEGO, NY – Video games aren’t just for kids anymore.

At least that’s the case for residents of Bishop’s Commons who have been learning how to play the Wii Nintendo’s interactive video system with the help of some local children.

Bowling, baseball, duck shooting, golf, and archery have had residents up and out of their seats striving for the best score.

Recently a group of children visiting on their day off of school shared their favorite music and dancing Wii games that had both kids and seniors singing and moving to the beat.

Residents were able to drum and sing along to Beatles songs on the Beatles Rock Band game, while others were dancing at a beginner level of Dance Dance Revolution.

“We are lucky to have young volunteers who bring in their games to share and teach our residents how to play them,” noted senior living coordinator Julie Chetney. “They get a real kick out of all the movement and the technology of the Wii.”
