Oswego– New officers were recently elected for the Children’s Board of Oswego County upcoming 2010-2011 year.
The Children’s Board of Oswego is a non-profit community organization dedicated to enhancing the physical, emotional and cultural well-being of children in Oswego County.
The Children’s Board continues a year-round effort through its various committees and fund-raisers. Current projects include: collection of food and clothing for needy families, poison prevention, free cultural performances, a special fund for emergency needs, support of Oswego Hospital’s Pediatric Dept. through tours for schools groups, college scholarships and an annual Unsung Hero award. The group partners with school district nurses and Catholic Charities to determine families who will receive support.
The Children’s Board is currently planning their annual sale of poinsettias which will kick off in November.
Meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month from September to May and are open to all members of the community.
