Students at the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation recently learned all about defensive areas, wing areas, cross-checks and goals when they attended the Lax All-Stars North American Invitational Box Lacrosse tournament.

Held in late September on the Onondaga Nation, Lax All-Stars member Connor Wilson welcomed the CiTi students to the Deyhontsigwa’ehs Lacrosse Weekend, hosted by the Indigenous Values Initiative.
The students also learned all about the “Words That Come Before All Else” from Tadadaho Sid Hill and the history of lacrosse from Onondaga faithkeeper Oren Lyons.
The visit was the first exposure to a sport for many of the youngsters that they otherwise likely would have never gotten the chance to see.
