MEXICO, NY – Students from all nine school districts arrived at Oswego County BOCES on a mission.
Once off their buses, they descended upon the nearly 50 colleges and post secondary educational offerings present Oswego County BOCES College Day.
Representatives from colleges, universities, technical schools and the military were on hand to answer questions and provide information to high school juniors and seniors from area schools.
College Day, coordinated by the Oswego County Schools Counselors Association, has been held at Oswego County BOCES for a number of years.
Many college representatives experience high student contact productivity rates, resulting in a large percentage of applications to the school.
All school districts followed a well organized schedule, in which no more than two schools were in attendance at one time, in order to create a more personalized College Day experience for students.
Many students expressed how much they really enjoyed the event’s casual atmosphere and convenience.
In one stop they were able to gain information and get exposure to a large number of colleges and technical schools that they might have overlooked were it not for the event.
