County Proclaims May As National Foster Parent Month

OSWEGO – The Oswego County Legislature’s Human Services Committee presented a proclamation designating May as Foster Parent Appreciation Month to representatives of the Oswego County Department of Social Services’ Foster Care Unit.

Approximately 30,000 young people in the U.S. leave the foster care system every year without lifelong families.

This is a call to action for caring and compassionate people to step forward and change the life of a child or youth in foster care by providing them with the security and stability that they need.
