Each class studied the history and traditions of a particular country.

This year, students learned about Brazil, China, Ireland and Australia, with the project culminating in a cultural celebration to showcase the student work.

“This is a great integrated unit of study,” said Fairley Principal Jody Musa. “It goes along with the modules and gives the kids a better understanding of the cultures, traditions and life in other parts of the world.”

Students wore colors of the country they studied and brought family members into each third grade classroom, which took on their respected country’s cultural feel, complete with decorations and props.

Parents listened as students read book reports and presented artwork, dioramas and posters.

Attendees also had the opportunity to indulge in some traditional food from each country. missing or outdated ad config
