CYO Students learn the importance of Dental Hygiene

A program of Catholic Charities of Oswego County, the CYO Summer Recreation Program is offered free of charge to children ages 7 to 13 and is held Monday thru Friday, 9a to 3p through August 15th.

Children in the CYO Summer Program learned the importance of dental hygiene as Ms. Marybeth Crouch of United Health Care visited the program for a special presentation on the benefits of proper dental hygiene.  She showed the children the correct way to brush and floss their teeth and spoke of the relationship between dental hygiene and heart disease in later years.  The students received complimentary dental kits complete with a toothbrush, toothpaste and dental floss.

The CYO Summer Recreation Program is offered free of charge to children ages 7 to 13 and is held Monday thru Friday, 9a to 3 p through August 15th.  Children enjoy a variety of special events and activities designed to aid in the recreational development of youth in Fulton, as well as the surrounding communities of Oswego County.  Children may attend the CYO Summer Program daily, or whatever days they choose, however participation is limited to the first 75 children each day.

Activities in the CYO Summer Program include; daily recreational activities, outdoor recreation at local parks, special presentations and awareness groups, arts & crafts, a reading program featuring guest readers, themed game days, and other fun activities.  A trained staff supervises all activities and assists all participants as needed to insure that they receive the full benefits of the program as well as help in their physical and mental development.  Children receive a free lunch daily through the USDA Summer Feeding Program sponsored by the Food Bank of Central New York.
