Coordinator of the CYO mentoring program Ken Dennison spoke of the many health benefits of smart snacking and how easy it is when he treated the students to homemade smoothies.

The students chose their favorite fruit and made their own smoothie to discover how tasty it can be to enjoy a healthy, sugar-free, low-fat treat.

The presentation was just one of the many activities that are available to students in the program, which is a school based mentoring program matching elementary school children with high school students.

The program is made possible in part through grants from Entergy, HSBC, the Oswego City / County Youth Bureau, the United Way of Greater Oswego County, and Oswego County Opportunities.
