On Aug. 1, he left his home in Lycoming on a two-day trip that will end in Finland.

While in Finland, he will attend both college and high school.

Dan said he will live with three families.

The first family speaks both Finish and English. The second speaks some English. The last speaks only English.

Dan has already received a package from his first host family. He said it contained gum and candy and a book on Finland.

The book describes some or Finland’s sports including “Wife Carrying” and “Mosquito killing.”

As a Rotary Youth Exchange student, Dan will spend a year living with three host families and attending school in Finland.

He will learn a new way of living, a great deal about himself, and a new language, Finish.

He will also be an ambassador, teaching people he meets about his country, culture, and ideas.

Dan can help bring the world closer – and make some good friends in the process.

More than 8,000 young people each year have experiences like these through Rotary Youth Exchange.

It’s the opportunity of a lifetime. missing or outdated ad config
