Explore The ‘Bones Of Writing’

OSWEGO, NY – Picturesque Camp Hollis will host another workshop this fall for all interested writers.

Whether you want to work on a great American novel or want to create poetry, this event will have plenty of helpful hints.

This workshop will be held on Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Camp Hollis.

Dee Marie, Jim Farfaglia, June MacArthur and Mary Slimmer will be facilitating.

Dee Marie is a local author who has penned a novel entitled, The Sons of Avalon.

Some of the elements for writing a good story included in the workshop will be: character building, deciding on a setting, planning for the plot, involving emotion, and constructing dialogue correctly. Publishing tips will be shared also.

Organizers say the event will give participants the gift of time, beautiful surroundings near Lake Ontario, and a variety of ideas for writing prose or poetry.

Participants are asked to bring a lunch. Beverages will be provided by the facilitators. Weather appropriate clothing should be worn as writing time outdoors will be optional.
