Hard work was celebrated during Fairgrieve Elementary School’s Morning Express program Thursday as nearly two dozen students received recognition.

Principal Jean Ciesla congratulated 22 students for demonstrating effort during the past month and presented the children with Virtue of the Month awards and a button commemorating their achievement.
“These students put forth an amazing effort and have done a terrific job,” Ciesla said.
The winners included Elijah Brooks, Olivia Nesbitt and Tee Jay Pagliaroli (kindergarten); Adelaide McEachen, Natalie Guile and Autumn Johnson (first grade); Reese Niver, John-Paul Murphy, Ty Nesbitt and Shane Seymour (second grade); Ryan Carroll, Maddison Schlosser and Kaylee Brown (third grade); Logan Murphy, Caleb Dillingham and Josalyn Miller (fourth grade); Samantha Hoyt, Matthew MacDougall and Alyssa Paro (fifth grade); and Gavin Brown, Justice Carvey and Danayza Gaiter (sixth grade).
In addition to the award presentation, the fourth-grade glee club sang about effort and the importance of working hard to reach a particular goal.
“If you want something you really have to put forth the effort,” said music teacher Hope Lawton.
