OSWEGO – Is it just too cold for you in the winter? Are you sick of the snowy weather by late February? The Oswego City?County Youth Bureau and Oswego Harborfest invite the community to a Treasure Island Luau from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28 at the Elk’s Lodge in Oswego. All children are welcome to attend. Activities will be geared for children up to age 10.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for families to spend some time together. If winter is just too long for you and you need to get away from the cold, then come and get shipwrecked on our treasure island,†said Dawn Metott, youth activities coordinator for the Youth Bureau. “In past years we have held a Teddy Bear Tea at this time of year with over 150 children and parents in attendance. With suggestions from past participants we changed the format to include both boys and girls. This year’s event will include a Treasure Hunt, music, karaoke, refreshments, many arts and crafts, lots of activities, goody bags for the kids, door prizes, and more.â€Â
Children and parents are invited to dress up in their best luau, pirate or princess outfit, or tropical island attire.
Tickets must be purchased in advance. They will not be sold at the door. Tickets are $10 each and are available at the Oswego City?County Youth Bureau, 70 Bunner St., Oswego. The price includes refreshments, gift/goody bags for the kids, door prizes, music and entertainment, arts and crafts, and more.
