Farrands, a Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker, said if elected she will work to cut spending and hold the line on property taxes.

“As custodians of taxpayer money, board members need to remember that every time taxes are raised, the mortgage payment for many of our residents increases and it also could jeopardize their STAR rebate,” Farrands said. “We need to be accountable to those we serve.”

Farrands, who is now a broker with Howard Hanna Real Estate, is the former Broker/Owner of Partners in Integrity Realty.

She is currently serving on the Zoning board of Appeals for the town and is a former member of the city of Fulton’s Board of Assessment Review.

“I’d like to offer my 30 years of experience with real estate, property taxes and assessments to the residents of Granby,” Farrands said. “I feel it’s an asset to have a board member with experience in one of the most critical means of town government.”

Farrands said the residents of the town of Granby deserve to be represented with understanding and confidence.

“My platform is simple. I will follow the law and represent every citizen in our town with dignity and respect,” she said.

Farrands and her husband, Richard, have two children and four grandchildren.

She will appear on the Democrat, Conservative and Independent lines in the Nov. 7 General Election.
