OSWEGO, NY – Members of the Oswego Police and Oswego Fire departments assemble following their Sunday softball game as part of the annual Mayor’s Cup Softball Tournament.
Other participants were the Oswego Department of Public Works and the United States Coast Guard Oswego Station.
The game between OPD and OFD was played for the Comerford/Davis Trophy, the first of an annual trophy given to the game winner in memory of Capt. Jamie Comerford and Firefighter Scott Davis, active members of both departments who passed away this summer.
The Oswego Fire Department defeated the Oswego Police Department 18-17.
The Fire Department went on to defeat the Coast Guard 17-10 in the championship game.
Mayor Randy Bateman and Council President Dan Donovan served as umpires.
They received good grades for their umpiring work, the mayor noted at Monday’s council meeting.
