FULTON, NY – Area music lovers will be in for a real treat, as Fulton Community Theatre’s popular Evening on Broadway series continues with a tribute to the Broadway magic of Rodgers and Hammerstein.
Under the direction of Kathy DeGolyer, “A Lovely Night…The Music of Rodgers and Hammerstein” will be performed Nov. 13, 14, 20 and 21 in Jubilee Hall at Holy Trinity Parish, 309 Buffalo St.
“It was a challenge tapping into the vast musical library of Rodgers and Hammerstein. Since there is such a wealth of great songs written by them, it was very difficult to select the music for this show,” said DeGolyer. “We have put together such a wonderful selection of the duo’s most popular and familiar songs that audiences will have a hard time to resist singing along with the cast.”
Currently in rehearsal, the production will showcase Rodgers & Hammerstein music from Carousel, The Sound of Music, State Fair, Oklahoma, Flower Drum Song, The King and I, Cinderella, and South Pacific.
“One of the great things about the Evening on Broadway shows, is they provide young performers, as well as seasoned veterans, with the chance to ‘strut their stuff’ and sing some great music,” added DeGolyer.
Boasting a cast of 5 women and 5 men, “A Lovely Night…The Music of Rodgers & Hammerstein” features vocalists from Fulton, Oswego, Syracuse, Phoenix, and Pennellville.
Cast members include Beth DeRousie, Mike Bolio, Warren Blanchard, Amy Brown, Molly Brown, Dale Gallonio, William Edward (Bill) White, Marsha Preston, and DeGolyer.
Accompanist and assistant musical director for the show is Abel Searor.
DeGolyer added that “A Lovely Night…The Music of Rogers & Hammerstein” will not only provide an evening of musical entertainment, it will also benefit children in the community.
“Fulton Community Theatre is thrilled to once again team with Catholic Charities of Oswego County during the show’s run. We are asking audience members to bring an unwrapped toy with them to the performance. The toys will be collected by Catholic Charities and distributed during the Christmas holiday as part of their ‘Let’s Give for a Kid’ program. Catholic Charities of Oswego County is a wonderful organization that does so much for so many in our community. Fulton Community Theatre is proud to support such a worthwhile organization,” said DeGolyer.
Catholic Charities’ “Let’s Give For A Kid” program puts smiles on hundreds of children’s faces by providing less fortunate children in our community with toys on Christmas Day.

Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. Sunday performances are at 2 p.m.
Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students.
Dessert and coffee will be provided during intermission.
Jubilee Hall is fully accessible to all audience members.
