Fulton Family YMCA Raffles Donated Quilt To Help Improve Gym

FULTON – The Fulton Family YMCA is in the midst of a raffle of a beautiful quilt donated by a dedicated YMCA member.

Proceeds from the raffle will help pay for new wall pads for the YMCA’s gym. Tickets are on sale at the YMCA at 715 W. Broadway during business hours for $3 for 1 ticket, $5 for 2 tickets and $10 for 5 tickets. A YMCA member will match donations up to $500. The drawing will be held December 1.

The full-sized quilt, created by Patricia Hart, features an attractive blue and white diamond pattern. It is on display at the YMCA.

“We are grateful to Mrs. Hart and to our anonymous donor for their generosity. We have been working diligently to improve our facilities during the shutdown, and as we slowly reopen, I hope members will see that their YMCA is better than ever, in major part because of the dedication of our members,” said Amy Leotta, Fulton Family YMCA Director.

During the state-mandated COVID-19 shutdown, the YMCA offered daily childcare to children of essential workers. Meantime, staff members thoroughly cleaned the building and gave many areas a fresh coat of paint. The YMCA also made a major investment, replacing the building’s entire roof.

In line with state rules on reopening of gyms, the Fulton Family YMCA has reopened on a limited schedule that includes access to the exercise equipment, therapeutic pool and some classes. Details are available on the YMCA’s website.

The Fulton Family YMCA is part of a powerful association of men, women and children committed to bringing about lasting personal and social change. With a focus on nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving the community health and well-being and providing opportunities to give back and support neighbors, the Y enables youth, adults, families and communities to be healthy, confident, connected and secure.
