Fulton Family Ymca Seeks Community Input To Help Plan Its Future

FULTON – The Fulton Family YMCA has launched a Community Needs Survey to learn what the Fulton-area community believes are its major needs. The survey can be found at https://bit.ly/CommunityAssessmentSurvey. Everyone is welcome to take the survey, which should take about 5 minutes to complete.

The survey asks people to identify what they feel are the most pressing needs in the community and to rank lists of various needs. The YMCA is beginning a strategic planning process to determine its goals for growth for the next few years. Responses from the surveys will serve as the first major input for the YMCA’s staff and directors to consider.

“Our community is poised for growth and change as part of a transformation taking place across Central New York. We can take our programs and services in any one of several directions. This survey will help us choose the best direction. I urge everyone to take five minutes to complete this quick survey. The more information we have, the stronger our plan will be and the better we will be able to provide critical services to people,” said Amy Leotta, Executive Director of the Fulton Family YMCA.

While many people know the YMCA for its exercise facilities and therapeutic swimming pool, this Y’s services are deep and broad. Its childcare services make up the largest single group of programs, caring for children beginning in infancy to strengthen the local economy by helping working parents. Exercise and wellness programs touch members of all ages as they work to stay healthy or recover from a health issue. Special events include the entire community and help improve the area’s quality of life.

Information on all of the programs and services offered can be found at fultonymca.org.

The Fulton Family YMCA is part of a powerful association of men, women and children committed to bringing about lasting personal and social change. With a focus on nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving the community’s health and well-being and providing opportunities to give back and support neighbors, the Y enables youth, adults, families and communities to be healthy, confident, connected and secure.
