Students and staff at Fulton Junior High School were in high spirits recently while celebrating school spirit during an all-school assembly with members of FJHS and invited guests from the high school.
Mr. Conners spoke to the audience how athletics and sports teach us about respect and responsibility. He introduced the captains of the high school football team and named as honorary co-captain 7th grader Zak Diefendorf, someone Conners said knows firsthand about overcoming adversity and who exemplifies courage.
Carlos Feliciano, Keisha Pierce and Logan Aubeuf shared with the assembly what spirit and pride meant to them through reading their writings. “You have to respect others to be respected yourself,†said Keisha Pierce. She also wrote that the qualities learned through PBIS make a better person, school and community. PBIS is part of the Fulton school district behavioral expectations which ask all students to be respectful, responsible and safe.
Senior class president and members of the high school soccer, football, and cheerleading team all spoke to the group about involvement, leadership and positive attitude in achieving success and respect.
The assembly which was the culmination of spirit week at the junior high school, focused on ways individuals can make a positive difference in themselves, their school and their community.
