Fulton Lions’ BBQ Fundraiser A Success

The Fulton Lions Club’s sixth annual chicken BBQ, on Feb. 5, to benefit the club’s Mary and Harold “H” Dowd Memorial Scholarship was a great success, said Jim Sokolowski, Fulton Lions president. Jim Aluzzi, left, of Kristen’s Kitchen & Catering, Fulton, donated his time and equipment to help the Lions barbeque the chicken. Assisting him is Fulton Lions First Vice President, David Dingman. “Thanks to the support and enthusiasm of Jim Aluzzi, our event chair, Dr. Brett Tallents, and so many people, we sold out of dinners before 1 p.m. and raised more than $1,000 for the scholarship fund,” Sokolowski said. The Fulton Lions established a scholarship for a graduating Fulton high school student in the Dowds’ name to be awarded on a yearly basis.
