Fulton Schools Participate in World Book Giveaway

The Fulton City School District in cooperation with the river’s end bookstore in Oswego participated on April 23 in an international literacy and reading initiative known as World Book Night. The school district’s five librarians distributed more than 120 new books to reluctant student and/or parent readers in their local school community. Volney Elementary School Librarian Sarah Fay is pictured with four of the 25 lucky students who received the book The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. Clockwise, from left, are: sixth grade students Taylor Palmer, Ireland Buxton, Josh Noble, and Owen Ayotte. Other works distributed by the school librarians include: The Worst Hard Time: The Untold Story of Those Who Survived the Great American Dust Bowl by Timothy Egan, Playing For Pizza by John Grisham, and Still Alice by Lisa Genova.
