Residents were treated to a traditional picnic lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs and all the fixings.

“We were excited to break-in our new grill and open our deck for summer,” said The Gardens’ activities director Jill Little.

A live performance from Karl Lagray provided the music for the event.

Included among the residents were several veterans that appreciated the red, white and blue decorations and were proud to celebrate Memorial Day.

“It was a great day for it,” said Little. “Our residents enjoyed the sunshine while dining on our deck. We will be using the deck quite a bit over the next few months.”

Located at 132 Ellen St., The Gardens is a 106-bed assisted living community that provides an active living community and promotes independence while offering the support services necessary to assist individuals with health care need 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
