Considered by experts to be one of the most haunted locations in the United States, Fort Ontario was the site of two battles during the French and Indian War (1754-63) and one during the War of 1812 (1812-14).

Rebuilt for the fourth time between 1839 and 1845, the historic fort was garrisoned by the regular army until 1944, and, from 1944 – 1946 it served as the only refugee camp in the United States for victims of the Nazi Holocaust in Europe.

Refreshments will be offered for sale by the American Legion.

American Legion Post 268 is located at 69 W. Bridge Street (Route 104W) in the city of Oswego.

Fort Ontario State Historic Site is one of six historic sites and sixteen parks in the Central Region administered by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, Carol Ash – commissioner.
