Girl Scouts Hold Award Ceremony

OSWEGO, NY – Recently, Girl Scouts (of NYPENN Pathways) from the Oswego Service Unit held its year end award ceremony to honor exceptional Girl Scouts, adult volunteers and scout leaders.

Girl Scouts receiving “You’ve Made A Difference” Leadership Awards were: Katelyn Clary, Haley Closs, Sabrina Fredenberg, Cassandra Hondro, Miranda Miller, Sierra Palmer, Leanna Restani, Ashley Richmond, Hunter Smith and Rebecca Waggle.

These scouts planned and led numerous events for Oswego Service Unit Girl Scouts of all ages.

Two Girl Scout Gold Award recipients, Allison Carmody and Danielle Mather, were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the community.

The Gold Award is the highest award in Girl Scouting.

It  involves more than 100 hours of preliminary requirements, as well as a minimum 65-hour community service project.

They were presented with the Gold Award Charge and Pledge.

Allison Carmody also received a Girl Scout Scholarship as an Oswego High School graduating senior.

Adult recognitions were also awarded to several volunteers.

Stephanie Carmody, Mary Ann Pettie and Rebecca Rastley all received “Volunteers are all Heart” awards for their contributions to their troops and/or service unit.

Bonnie Perfetti and Cristina Waggel were awarded the Guardian Angel Award for their dedication to their troops and support to their co-leaders.

Cindy Mather was recognized for her outstanding commitment and continued service to the Oswego Service Unit.

Rosemary Scullen was presented with the Outstanding Leader Award for her on-going expletory dedication to the young women in Ambassador Troop #41.

Allison Carmody a senior at Oswego Higih School, GS Ambassador in Troop #41 received a scholarship from the GS NYPENN Pathyways, Oswego Service Unit. She was presented the scholarship by Cindy Mather, treasurer of the Oswego Service Unit.
