Granby Elementary students have fun in the bounce house during the Parent Teacher Group's annual kickoff celebration.
GRANBY – The Granby Elementary School Parent-Teacher Group hosted its annual kickoff event to celebrate a great start to the 2017-18 school year.

PTG vice president Shannon Beebe said the event served as an opportunity to show students and their families how much life beyond the classroom exists with Granby Gators.
Providing a fun and friendly way to showcase personalities of teachers and staff members will hopefully encourage the students to attend school daily, she said.
The kickoff event featured a picnic-style dinner with a hot dogs, chips and water.
Popsicles also were available for families to enjoy a cool treat on the hot day.
The fun continued with music, a bounce house and a large inflatable dragon children navigated through.

The afternoon went from giggles outside to excitement inside at the book fair, followed by meet-and-greets with classroom teachers during open house.
Beebe said the PTG hopes families who attended the event carry the same excitement with them throughout the school year.
Granby families are in store for more PTG-sponsored fun with the upcoming Halloween dance, bingo, vendor fair and science night, among many other events.
