Students and their family members were treated to a special back to school celebration and picnic at Granby Elementary School recently.

The carnival atmosphere included two bouncy house activities, music, dancing, food, a book giveaway and an opportunity to drench a teacher with water balloons to raise money for the school yearbook.
The well-attended event allowed families to come together as a community at the school to celebrate the start of the new school year.
Principal Heather Perry greeted visitors and students were eager to introduce family members and guests to Ms. Perry.
Granby’s Parent Teacher Group (PTG) organized the event that also included a special book giveaway, allowing every student attending to select a free book to take home.
Granby Kindergarten teacher Terry Van Buren was a good sport as students paid $1 for the chance to toss two water balloons in an attempt to soak her on a beautiful warm evening.
The money raised will be used for the color Granby Elementary Yearbook.
