Head Start Pre-K will be holding open gouse at each of its centers.
“The goal of our open house is to provide prospective parents and families, as well as community members, public leaders, and schools an opportunity to visit our program, get to know us and one another,” said Heather Familo, food services assistant and the open house coordinator this year.

Head Start is a federally funded pre-k program with the goal of increasing the school readiness of 3- and 4-year-old children of low-income families.
Classrooms offer a variety of learning materials and developmentally appropriate opportunities.
Additionally, nutritious meals and snacks are a part of the daily routine.
Classes have a maximum of 17 children with each class having a teacher, teaching assistant, and classroom aide.
The program is currently accepting enrollment applications for September.
Applications are also accepted year round as the program maintains a waiting list for each center.
Head Start Pre-K is the longest running national school-readiness program in the United States.
Since 1999, more than 4,400 children have been students of Head Start Pre-K in Oswego County.
