Tom Gilbo and the Blue Suedes playing under the pavilion
PHOENIX – The concert series held at Henley Park in Phoenix was very popular again this summer.

A joint venture of the town of Schroeppel and village of Phoenix, the concerts attracted several thousand music lovers over the course of eight weeks (Mondays and Fridays) in July and August.
Some of the many positive comments heard from concert-goers include, “Dan Elliot is always excellent – a good draw,” “Tom Gilbo sounds just like Elvis!” “This is my favorite………my kind of music!”
And, the location by the canal was perfect for cooling off on all those hot summer nights.
While the Phoenix Concert Series Partners: Town of Schroeppel Community Services Department, the Village of Phoenix, the Phoenix Community Youth Council, the Phoenix Public Library, Fulton Savings Bank, and CNY Arts make the concerts possible, they have a lot of help from the community as well.
The village of Phoenix and Phoenix Fire Station provide the location and rain location for the concerts.
The following local groups provided delicious food in the park during the concerts: State Street Cafe, Larkins and St. Stephen’s Church. Also, the Phoenix Public Library and Discovery Learning Center provided arts and crafts for the young people who attended.
Thank you also to the following individuals, businesses, and and organizations who donated generously to keep the music alive: Fulton Savings Bank, Allanson Glanville Tappan Funeral Homes, R.F.H’s Hide-a-Way, Phoenix Memorial VFW Post #5540, Wrightway Hardware, St. Stephen’s Church, Joan Clark, Lynn and Susan Nelson and the 2016 concert-goers.
This project is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a re-grant program of the NYS Council on the Arts with support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the NYS Legislature and is administered by CNY Arts.
