Heritage Foundation To Host Preservation Awards Ceremony

OSWEGO, NY – The Heritage Foundation of Oswego County will host its annual Preservation Appreciation Awards on May 26 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the historic Oswego Public Library, 120 E. Second St.

For more than 30 years, the Heritage Foundation has recognized worthy historic preservation, beautification and volunteer efforts at the annual event.

Each year, an impressive group of individuals, businesses and organizations demonstrates a high level of commitment to the community’s historical, architectural and environmental resources.

The awards ceremony will showcase the positive work of 12 recipients that have demonstrated significant examples of preservation in the Oswego County community.

A special volunteer of the year award will also be presented.

“The Heritage Foundation believes it is important and rewarding to recognize such outstanding commitment of time, effort and resources to the preservation of the county’s historic and architectural landmarks,” said Justin White, chair of the Preservation Awards committee. “This is a time when the community can learn about the positive improvements taking place in the community that would otherwise go unrecognized.”

The list of recipients will be revealed at the awards ceremony, which is free and open to the public.
