History of Hannibal Book Released

The Hannibal Historical Society has released the book, “Pictorial History of Hannibal, NY” containing over 400 photos of life in Hannibal through the years. The book is available for sale at the Hannibal Free Library and the Hannibal Municipal Building for $20 per copy. For a copy signed by the author, contact Lowell Newvine at 564-5650.

In celebration of the Village of Hannibal’s 150th Anniversary, the Historical Society plans to open a small museum at the former Cook’s Manufacturing Jewelers store on the corner of Church and Cayuga Streets. The official opening of the museum will be May 31 in conjunction with the Memorial Day Salute taking place in the Village Square at 11:30 a.m. Thereafter, the museum will be open most Saturdays during the summer from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The “Pictorial History of Hannibal, NY” will be available for sale at the museum, along with raffle tickets for Hannibal’s Commemorative Chest constructed and painted by Rashelle Pitcher.
