OSWEGO, NY – Every year Charles E. Riley Elementary School art teacher Rebecca Woods provides kindergarten students with a “Groundhog Day” celebration.
The native of Punxsutawney, Pa., shows a video about her hometown preparation for the special day, talks about “Punxsutawney Phil,” reads the “Groundhog Day” book and makes special “Groundhog” cookies.
Kindergartners Brian DeSantis and Keziah Angeleri don’t care that Phil predicted six more weeks of winter as they prepare to devour their “Groundhog Sundaes.”
