Frigid temperatures and snowy conditions couldn’t stop people from venturing outside and traveling to the John C. Birdlebough High School Auditorium on Thursday night, where students’ musical talents were on display.

The school’s jazz band and percussion ensemble entertained the crowd with 10 songs.
Under the direction of David Frateschi, the jazz band performed hits from artists such as Bruno Mars, Randy Newman and Carlos Santana.
Soloists were Brian Breen, Zach VanGorder, Michael Mironti, Rachel Isbell, Catherine Barnhart, Jacob Nicolini, Jacob Lawless and Kaylee Waldby.
Following the jazz band’s performance, the percussion ensemble took the stage under the direction of Joanna Young.
The group played four songs, which included “30 Gallon Groove,” “Me Tarzan,” “Dun’t be Blue Mon,” and “A Child’s Dance.”
