Main entrance of the Oswego Public Library
UPDATE From Oswego Fire Department:

Oswego Fire Department officials also established a safety zone in front of the building, and closed a portion of East Second Street.
OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Library will be temporarily closing access to the front entrance located on East Second Street.
Patrons should enter the library using the East Oneida Street entrance going down the stairway next to the lawyer’s office and walking across the grass.

This decision was made by the board of trustees due to concerns regarding the inside condition of the upper turrets located on the attic level at the front of the building.
They have been in contact with a structural engineer and have two additional engineers coming in to examine the turrets.
The library has contacted LeChase Construction who did original work on the building.
The city code enforcement and fire department are also involved.
This portion of the library wasn’t part of the recent restorations of the library.
Library officials said they are sorry for any inconvenience.
Please contact the library at 341-5867 if you have a hardship in using the side entrance.
