OSWEGO – In July, the newly available workshop will be on ancestry.com.
Previous classes were a bit more basic, but this new class will delve a bit more into what kinds of resources are available on the website. There will also be a more general class on using different genealogy websites and resources locally and online so people can expand their personal research.
The course on ancestry.com will be offered on two days, July 12 and 26 from 2 to 4 p.m., and the genealogy course will be held on July 27 from 2 to 4 p.m.
A class will be offered on July 8, it will be a class on upgrading one’s personal computer and the kinds of costs associated with different computer components.
Navigating ArtistWorks will be offered on July 18 from 5 – 7 p.m. to allow people to take classes that are working until the evening.
A Universal Class workshop will come before it from 2 to 4 p.m.

Computer Maintenance – July 5, 2 – 4 p.m.
Computer Tune-Up – July 6, 2 – 4 p.m.
Upgrading your PC – July 8, 2 – 4 p.m.
Internet Basics (#5) – July 10, 10 a.m. – noon
Introduction to Computers (#1 – #3) – July 17, 24 and 31, from 10 a.m. – noon
Google Classes – Google Docs (July 10), Google Drive (July 17), Google Earth (July 24) and Using Gmail (July 31), all from 2 – 4 p.m.
Navigating ancestry.com will be offered twice: July 12 and 26 from 2 – 4 p.m.
The remaining available workshops are Seguridad de Internet (Securing the Internet; this course is held in Spanish) on July 11, 2-4 p.m.; Using Windows 10 on July 13 from 2 – 4 p.m.; Using Universal Class on July 18 from 2 – 4 p.m.; Using ArtistWorks on July 18 from 5 – 7 p.m.; Microsoft Office Overview on July 19 from 2 – 4 p.m.; Navigating NCLS Online on July 20 from 2 – 4 p.m.; Navigating Facebook on July 25 from 2 – 4 p.m.; and Genealogy Resources on July 27 from 2 – 4 p.m.
Tech Help Open Labs will be held on Thursday and Fridays and are available from 10 a.m. until noon on each of the following dates: July 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, and 28.
The Library Learning Center is located on the lower level of the Oswego Public Library and is open Monday-Friday.
All programs are free and open to the public.
