Parrish previously worked as an administrative assistant at the Department of Social Services and most recently as a volunteer at the VA Hospital in Syracuse.

She describes herself as a real ‘people person’ and is happy to be a part of Catholic Charities.

“I like working with people and I truly enjoy helping others. Working at Catholic Charities gives me the opportunity to do just that. I was quite surprised at just how many people access and depend on the services that the program offers, our food pantry is always busy,” said Parrish.

In her new role as intake clerk, Parrish will be responsible for orientating new clients on the many services offered through the Emergency Services Program.

Following the orientation she will assist the clients in using Catholic Charities’ client choice food pantry, and the thrift shop, as well as helping them with applications for the USDA Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Catholic Charities’ prescription medication assistance program.

“It’s wonderful that Catholic Charities is here to help. Our food pantry is busier than ever and I encourage those who can, to consider donating to our food pantry and thrift store. With the ever increasing number of people depending on our food pantry, donations are always welcome,” added Parrish.
