OSWEGO, NY – Lake City Lodge No. 127, F&AM, held a celebration of George Washington’s birthday and presented its community service awards on Saturday.
Patrick J. Fasulo, master of Lake City, served as master of ceremonies for the evening.
The flag of our country was presented by members of Masonic War Veterans Post No, 43.
A prime rib supper was prepared and served by Lake City Victoria Chapter Order of Eastern Star under the leadership of Matron Earline Wood.
After the meal Master Fasulo read a biography of George Washington.
Washington is remembered by Masons as a brother.
Three community service awards were presented.
Oswego Human Concerns Center received an award for its aid to indigent citizens.
Food is provided to help families that are in need.
John Lyons, treasurer for Human Concerns, reviewed the work of his agency.
He received a certificate and a check for $200 to aid their work.
Judy Egan a supervisor at SAF House, received a certificate and check to aid her agency’s efforts to assist abused women.
Rev. Timothy Gleason was awarded the Daniel Carter Beard Scouter Award.
Brother Gleason is an active member of Lake City 127 and an adult member of Boy Scouts.
The purpose of the award is to recognize outstanding service to youth through the Boy Scouts of America.
The Rev. Gleason is a Cub Scout leader at his church and has revitalized Scouting in Oswego County.
The Masons recognized these two organizations and Rev. Gleason as representing the life of service demonstrated by Brother George Washington.
